Now to define the needy I do not mean someone that wants to get rid of a mole on their face or something of that nature.

Yes, there are actually foundations out there that support plastic surgeons here and overseas that help people with no money to get the plastic or reconstructive surgery they need.

For most of us, we live a pretty sheltered life. Not that it is our fault, but we just do not see that there is suffering in our country and in others. Many children and adults face tough times due to injuries they have been born with or injuries received from an accident.

For example a child in another country may be looked down upon because he has a cleft lip. This type of birth defect is common in some countries and can also be quite painful depending on the severity of it.

But there is hope for these people. Plastic surgeons sometimes volunteer their time to help these people in need. Through the foundations they work for, money is raised to buy the necessary medical tools and facility to complete these surgeries. There is no vanity involved here. These children with the cleft lips can live new lives now thanks to the doctors that put their reconstructive surgery skills to use in a whole new way most of us have never heard of before.

These reconstructive surgeons can assist those suffering from physical deformities, major burns, birth defects, hand reconstruction and so much more. Plastic surgery will not only help these individuals to feel emotionally better about themselves; but in some cases it can save their life.

Some plastic surgeons have far more advanced skills than just the average cosmetic surgeon. They can change the lives of those who have true medical emergencies.

Most people would probably think you were crazy if you said that plastic surgery can be medically necessary for some people. For many people out there, they think that plastic surgery is only for enhancing what each one of us was given. They do not realize though that some people out there need it for far more important reasons.

I will use my cousin for example. He has a rare disease that causes him to get cancerous growths all over his body. Each and every time he finds one or more, he has to head to the hospital to have them removed and biopsied. After many surgeries, some more extensive than others, it leaves his body scarred beyond what most of us can imagine.

Imagine for him what it would be like to leave his body completely scarred up like that.

The first thing plastic surgery can help him with is pain management. The incisions made by the doctors are very precise. Yet do to the depth and nature of some of them, they can leave quite a bit of scar tissue. This scar tissue left just as it is can be quite painful at times. Thanks to well qualified plastic surgeons they can go in and clean some of this up helping that area to heal better and become less painful.

It next helps him to overcome the mental problems associated with being so scarred up. Most of us cannot imagine how tough it would be to remain so scarred from so many surgeries. The surgeries they usually do are quick and painless. Typically these procedures are covered by the insurance company as a part of the overall treatment.

So after reading this, maybe it will shed a new light on the other side of plastic surgery most of us never hear about.

Living in this world is such a great thing that God gave to us. It is a gift that is so valuable because it has a great importance. We have our different purposes in life which we should be able to discover and find a way to know what those purposes are. But what if the existence that God gave us made us confused, in a way which we think that we do not belong to the society because of our deformities. That we are useless because of that curse. Still a man of faith will always think that everything and anyone have a purpose. That everything is happening with a reason.

A man especially the children living with a deformity usually ask themselves, “Why do we exist in this world with this burden?”, “How can we have a normal life without those people who think that we are not different from them?”, “How can we prove ourselves if there are no chances given to us?” And then they would think for an instance on reshaping the physical defects of their body through plastic surgery operations. The reshaping of physical abnormality is probably possible, but what if their parents or the ones who take care of them cannot afford the plastic surgery operation cost. That is why there are volunteer organizations around the world that have the mission to serve and give support to these less fortunate people. Volunteer organization like plastic surgery foundation has a great deal with regards to these situations. They work voluntarily without being paid because of their passion to serve. They do this benevolent act because of their kind hearts. But being one of any altruistic organizations is not easy. It takes patience and time to render a good service to those in needs. Why? The number one reason is that they lack the fund that will support their charitable services and missions. Thank God there are people with kind hearts who are willing to share what they have through donations. Whether big or small amount, what is important is they HELP.

Yes, life is not really that easy especially for those people who have body deformities, congenital malformations and traumatic disfigurements, but with the help of these philanthropic volunteer organizations like plastic surgery foundation these people will now see a new light of hope in their lives giving them the courage to live life without having any hesitations.

The consultation is the most important part of your plastic surgery, and you want to make sure you get it right the first time. Lots of mistakes are made because the patient isn’t really ready for your consultation. Getting the face and body you want it too important to take chances with!

Here are some things you should do to prepare before you go to your consultation…

1 – Decide what you want done. Some people go to their surgeon with a list the length of their arm of little improvements that would make their body perfect.

Tuck a little here, stretch a little there, vacuum some of this, inject some of this… It can be complicated. While your surgeon may be able to do a couple of different things during your operation, a big long list like that is just not going to get things done.

Bring in a list of all the things you want done, and prioritize. Start with number one, and imagine that this is the only change that can be made. Then, pick a number 2 and so on. This will give your plastic surgeon a good idea of what you want done.

2 – Do your homework. The more you know about what you need done, the more smoothly your consultation will go. If you know what can be done where, and with what kinds of results, it will be easier to describe to your plastic surgeon what you want.

It’s like getting a haircut; you have to know what you need, and your hairstylist will get it just right. Although, plastic surgery is a bigger operation! It’s important that you are familiar with the procedures that you want done, and you have realistic expectations about the outcomes. This will help your doctor create the new body you want.

3 – Think about recovery time. All cosmetic operations require some time for the patient to recover, and this can really put a damper on your work and social life. Before you head in for your consultation, decide exactly how much of your life you can spare for recovery, and assume that you will be totally out of commission for that time.

Think of it as your time budget. Tell your plastic surgeon the absolute longest you can spend recovering, and that will help them decide if this particular operation will work for you or not.

4 – Brainstorm some questions. Make sure that you get all of your questions and concerns answered by the doctor. And, as always with doctors, be totally honest about your feelings. It can be hard to do this sometimes, but it is important. After all, it will help your plastic surgeon to know why you want to make the change. This might help them make some suggestions that would better get you what you want.

5 – Make sure your finances are in order. Decide how you are going to pay, and what your budget for the whole thing will be. You can usually pay by check, credit card or cash, and some clinics offer loan options. Just make sure you’ve decided beforehand how you’re going to pay.

After your consultation, you’ll feel relieved. You’ll know just what is going to happen, in what time-frame, and what the results will be. Get prepared before your consultation, and your plastic surgery will be a success!

quently I get requests from patients for the desire to transform a round face into a more shapely appearance. One cause of a round face is that the patient is overweight. A full neck, round cheeks, and a lot of subcutaneous fat throughout the face creates a generalized fullness that creates a fat and round face. These patients know full well that they are overweight and some liposuction of the neck and buccal lipectomies may make some difference. But weight loss will probably make the most difference in these cases. And these procedures should not be performed until some weight loss has been achieved.

But the overweight patient is not what usually makes up the ’round face’ patient. Most commonly these are younger patients that are not significantly overweight and are usually closer to being more height and weight porportionate. They may have some mild fullness in the cheeks and neck but often their bony prominences (cheeks, chin, or jaw angles) may be somewhat deficient. The approach to these patients must deal with both hard and soft tissues issues to be effective at improving the face’s angularity and definition.

In addition to the fullness of the cheeks and neck, the next most important consideration in ****** shape improvement should look at the chin. Often it may only be midly short in the horizontal dimension but the width of the chin is also important, particularly in the male patient. Chin implants today can provide more projection as well as width in many different sizes. Placed through a small incision under the chin bone, a chin implant can lend more definition and squareness to the lower face from subtle to dramatic results.

Upper ****** fullness, more specifically midfacial fullness, can be achieved through cheek implants. Placed into position by incisions inside the mouth under the upper lip, cheek implants can provide good highlights through three-dimensional enhancement of the bone as it wraps around the area below the eye. An amazing aray of cheek and midface implants is available to provide a lot of enhancements around this important ****** landmark. When paired cheek implants are combined with a chin implant, an upside down triangle of change is created that directly opposes a more round or oval ****** shape.

Jaw angle implants are always a possibility but these are rarely needed in most really round faces. They can produce some lateral ****** fullness but this is not usually helpful in ‘de-rounding’ the face in most patients.

The procedures of buccal lipectomies, neck and jowl liposuction, chin and cheel implants make up the usual plastic surgery tools for ****** rehaping. Which one or a combination of procedures is most helpful for improving ****** definition is best determined by careful computer imaging study during the consultation with your plastic surgeon.

We always admire perfect beauty the way we are dreaming of it. We adore beautiful celebrities and appreciate the almost perfect looks and body of any beauty pageant candidates. It is all about your looks that people start to notice you. These beautiful and stunning celebrities or the doll like beauty pageant candidates are either endow naturally with beauty and good physical structure or enhanced by needles and knives of plastic surgery.

The plastic surgery procedure can reshape and hide your unwanted body parts and preserves youth such as wrinkle free skin. Nowadays the increasing demand to be beautiful is not limited only within the body parts such as nose, abdomens, youthful skin but also a perfect smile through plastic surgery dimples.

Let us understand first why everyone is not gifted with dimples on their cheeks. These invisible indentions on the cheeks are dominantly inherited. This genetic inheritance of dimples can either be visible on two cheeks or on just one side of the cheek. Though most of the population admired the dimples on the cheeks, it is actually considered as a ****** defect in the medical field. This is caused by the irregular growth of the muscles in the cheeks. Hence, you can notice that there are children with dimples on their cheeks and as they grow older, it starts to vanish. This is because the improper cheek muscle growth which caused the dimple is now fully developed.

Now with the new innovation of cosmetic technology, there is now a surgical procedure to implant dimples on the cheeks to attain the perfect smile you have been dreaming and admiring. Though people generally like dimples, other cultures perceive it as a sign of greater chance of fertility, good fortune and a better probability of marriage proposals.

It is always preferential to have dimples on both sides of the cheeks. However for a perfect smile through plastic surgery dimples, it is advocated to start off with a single dimple on one side of the cheek. Apart from the healing time, it will also allow the surgeon to calculate and view the depth and shape which will copied the same on the other side of the cheek. Doing the dimples on both side of the cheeks together will have greater possibility that the dimples will not appear the same in terms of its depth and shape.

The patient can actually decide the shape of the dimple. Though such preference will only be limited, the options can be either a large or small dimple. Opting for a large dimple, the effect on the check will be more ovoid or referred to as a less circular. It is more highly recommended to leave an impact of having a naturally dimple. Such options of the shapes of the dimples will greatly vary on the surgeons as they have their own methods and techniques.

The plastic surgery dimples are actually considered as a minor surgical operation. The patient can come to the surgical center for your dimple creation and leave on the same day. It is an outpatient procedure hence you will be injected with local anesthesia only.

Endoscopic plastic surgery minimizes incision size using an endoscope functions as a viewing device. It consists of a tubular probe fitted with a tiny camera and bright light, which is inserted through a small incision; and a viewing screen to magnify the transmitted images of the body’s internal structures. The surgeon watches the screen while moving the tube through the surgical area.

Advantages of Endoscopy

Because it involves smaller incisions, endoscopy leaves very minimal scarring. To insert the probe, only a few incisions less than one inch long are required. For procedures such as ****** augmentation, only two incisions may be necessary. Shorter incisions also reduce risk of sensory loss due to nerve damage. Also, bleeding, bruising and swelling may be significantly reduced.

Furthermore, the recovery period tends to be shorter with no need for an overnight hospital stay. Many endoscopic procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation.

Special consideration and risks

The endoscopic plastic surgery approach has only recently been applied to plastic surgery procedures. There are some known risks, which vary in severity depending on the procedure being performed. These include infection, fluid accumulation beneath the skin (which must be drained), blood vessel damage, nerve damage or loss of feeling, internal perforation injury, and skin injury.

And, keep in mind that if a complication occurs at any time during the operation your surgeon may have to switch to an open procedure, which will result in a more extensive scar and a longer recovery period. However, to date, such complications are rare—estimated to occur in less that 5 percent of all endoscopic procedures.

Have you ever thought about how a plastic surgery consultation is different from a regular surgery consultation?

Usually, your primary care physician refers you to a specialist. They have already decided what they will do based on what needs to be done. It’s pretty simple for everybody involved.

But, with plastic surgery things are very different. You are going to your cosmetic surgeon by choice, to make improvements on your body. It’s all up to you, which means there are some pretty big decisions to be made!

It can seem stressful, deciding exactly what you want done, but that’s just what the consultation is for. The best thing to do is be prepared for your consultation, and make sure that you spend as much time as you need deciding with your surgeon exactly what will be done. Here are some ideas about what to expect from your consultation …

First off, the consultation may be long. That is a good thing! Sure, you want to get the job done and get out of there so you can be sipping your coffee at home watching TV.

But, a plastic surgery consultation is a bit more complicated than your regular medical consultation. You have to go over things thoroughly and completely with your surgeon, and consider all the options they put on the table for you. You can expect to spend some quality time with your plastic surgeon, so be ready for it!

When you make an appointment to see the doctor, what do the clinic staff usually ask you? They want to know your name, address and phone number, insurance information, and a little idea of what’s bothering you.

A plastic surgeon’s office staff will want to know the same things, but they may want to go more in-depth about what you want done. You may find yourself having a pre-consultation consultation with the staff before you even see the doctor!

This, too, is a good thing. This means that you’ve found a good plastic surgeon, who cares about getting their patient exactly what they want. Expect to give the staff some idea of your needs before you go in to see the doctor.

Keep in mind that one of the purposes of the consultation process is to find out if you need what you want. In other words, it’s difficult sometimes to know exactly what kind of operation we need to achieve our goals, and a plastic surgeon with experience and extensive knowledge of specific procedures can be the one who determines how best to reach them.

Most importantly, plastic surgery should never be an impulsive decision.

When you go in for your consultation, you can expect the doctor to offer other ideas. In this situation, they’re not turning down your ideas, but trying to think of better ways to achieve your body-enhancing goals.

Always remember that your consultation is the most important part of your entire plastic surgery operation. What goes on in that hour or two is the main determiner of whether you will get what you want out of your procedure or not. If you are in doubt about the operation, give yourself some time to sleep on it and make sure it’s what is right for you.

Like many others, you might wish to improve certain aspects of your physical appearance. However, you may not feel ready to commit to a surgical procedure. Luckily, there are a number of advanced non-surgical procedures for cellulite removal, skin tightening and diminishing wrinkles. While the most dramatic effects will come from plastic surgery, many people find they can achieve desired results from non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

Who is a Candidate for Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures?

Almost anyone can be a candidate for a non-surgical cosmetic procedure. Most procedures are non-invasive, or at most involve a few shots. People who want to test the waters without committing to a plastic surgery procedure are perfect candidates for non-surgical cosmetic treatments.

Compare Types of Non-Surgical Plastic Surgery Procedures

While there are numerous non-surgical cosmetic treatments, many of them fall into one of three categories: cellulite removal, anti-wrinkle treatments and skin tightening.

Non-Surgical Plastic Surgery Procedure Options for Cellulite Removal

Cellulite is the appearance of uneven fat deposits around the buttocks and thighs. It generally affects women more than men. Cellulite can form for many reasons, including diet, age and genetics. Cellulite can be an unsightly aesthetic problem that many people choose to correct through non-surgical procedures.

Two major types of cellulite removal are mesotherapy and VelaSmooth. During mesotherapy, the doctor administers local injections that increase the flow of blood, breaking down the accumulation of cellulite-causing fats. VelaSmooth refines the skin with radio frequency and infrared light treatments. To some extent, both options employ endermologie, a highly specialized deep massage technique that evenly distributes fat with a dual-roller system.

Non-Surgical Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Over time, wrinkles develop because our faces start to lose collagen and elastin. Exposure to sunlight, the elements and cigarette smoke can speed up the process. Fortunately, most anti-wrinkle treatments are quick and simple. Available treatments include BOTOX®, chemical peels, collagen injections, laser skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion, Radiance, Restalyne and Thermage®.

Each type of anti-wrinkle treatment is designed for a specific part of the body, or for a specific type of wrinkle. It is important to discuss these options with your doctor and choose the treatment that best meets your needs.

Non-Surgical Skin Tightening Procedure Options

One of the most visible signs of aging is loose skin, especially around the face. Sagging skin combined with wrinkles can make a person look older than his or her actual age. Generally, skin- tightening treatments erase 10 – 15 years off the appearance of a patient’s face. These are all outpatient treatments that can take as little as 15 minutes, up to two hours.

Thermage®, a non-surgical skin tightening procedure, normally takes one application and can be completed in under an hour. The procedure uses intense radio frequency waves to tighten skin around the chin, neck or around the eyes.

Titan™ treatment uses infrared light to encourage collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Typically, patients undergo two or three treatments in order to achieve the best results.

During a thread lift, a doctor uses surgical thread to tighten the patient’s skin. The procedure is considered a minimally invasive alternative to a face lift, which achieves a more youthful appearance.

Arasys is a skin tightening procedure for the body. During this treatment, electrical signals force the muscles to quickly contract. It’s like doing exercise without the actual exercise! In the typical 17-minute session, Arasys can mimic the effect of 300 sit-ups, but without the same strain and stress on muscles. As the muscles contract, they burn fat and can tighten skin.

Remember that while the most dramatic effects will come from plastic surgery, many people find they can achieve desired results from non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
